1863. 23”x31” Four pages on single sheet. Complete. Reporting on Generals Meade and Lee positions in the Shenandoah Valley. Additional reporting on the attack of Charleston with list of confederate officers captured by the Union Army, and conscription reports from Philadelphia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. Printing of a discourse by Ben H. Smith given on the occasion of the dedication of the Christian church at the corner of Seventeenth and Olive streets in St. Louis on June 28th. Reporting by S. L. Crounse, Army Correspondent of the New York Times, on the removal of General Hooker. Report from Athens, Ohio listing captured confederates and wounded union soldiers transported on the Imperial, Starlight, and Bertha steamers via the Muskogean River. Large list of sick and wounded transported from Vicksburg to St. Louis, Missouri. Pages are soft and not brittle. Water staining at the top and bottom bleeding through all pages but not affecting readability of text. Small holes at folds and wear around edges. Overall this is a very good copy of a Civil War era Midwest paper.
