The exceedingly scarce first appearance of Lovecraft’s poem Evening Star. The fungi cycle poem as published in the Autumn 1932 issue of Walter Stevenson’s amateur publication The Pioneer. Stevenson was the son of a Bronx dentist who operated The Pioneer Press out of his parent’s home on Washington Street in Tarrytown, New York. He was also an active member of the National Amateur Press Association and served as group’s librarian from 1931-1933. This 16-page booklet reports on the activities of NAPA members and the status of other amateur press publication. 9 x 13.5 cm. Saddle stapled blue paper wraps.
