The Lottery [The New Yorker, June 26, 1948]
New York, New York: The New Yorker, 1948. First Appearance. Very Good. Item #403
The first appearance of Jackson's most talked about story. Written in early 1948 over the course of just a few hours, the disturbing story was purchased for three-times the amount previously paid her by The New Yorker for similar-length stories (Franklin). A very good copy that has an unfortunate 1-inch bump to the upper corner. Else fine. II-b-7.
Price: $750.00
