A nice copy of Blotner's two-volume expansive, and often meandering, biography of William Faulkner. Coming in at 2,115 pages (1,846 pages with 269 more of notes and index) and a whopping 9 pounds, Blotner and his editor made sure your forearms got a good workout. This copy is clean inside with bright unmarked pages. Both volumes have a comfortable and relaxed binding that make reading much easier. The maroon cloth covered boards show some wear and fading; however, the stamped titles retain their boldness. Top edge stained maroon to match the binding. A few spots on the bottom edge of volume 1. Both volumes have their original jackets. Both have wear to edges and a few small tears that have been properly repaired. A very good, solid set, without the issued slipcase.
