Sauk City, Wisconsin: Arkham House, 1967. Lee Brown Coye. First Edition, 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine / Fine. Item #136
A fine copy of the awkwardly sized 1967 Arkham House title 3 Tales of Horror. A clear opportunity to showcase the work of Lee Brown Coye while feeding fans more Lovecraft reprints. The three tales are The Colour out of Space, The thing at the Doorstep, and The Dunwich Horror. 7.25x9.5, 134 pages, and contains 15 black and white full-page sewn in illustrations printed on gloss paper. This title is unusual in that it is not the standard Arkham House style. It is more an art book than a story collection. It has a bright jacket in red with a Coye etching on the left. Bound in the standard Black Novelex with gilt stamped titles. This copy appears as sharp as the day of issue. The jacket is bright and sharp. Very soft rub and bump to top edge. Binding is solid and appears unread. Silt stamping is brilliant and corners are sharp. Text block is clean inside and out with nary a mark. One of the finest copies of this lovely limited edition of Arkham House’s limited editions.
